Had a lovely afternoon and evening with a friend. Since he's a good ol' Southern boy, it seemed appropriate to include some bacon in the meal planning. In March Southern Living had a bacon recipe bonanza, "Bacon Makes Everything Better".
I can now vouch for the Bacon Infused Bourbon, the scallops, and the Springtime Pasta. (All the recipes looked so good he's lucky I stopped there with the bacon.) And it was spread over most of the day and two meals.
The bourbon did make for a lovely evening in the gazebo, listening to the neighbors fireworks.
