Proud members of the Vast Right Wing Conspiracy. We strongly believe in personal freedom, responsibility, and gun rights. We also believe in the 90/10 theory. That means that 10% of the people have 90% of the talent. Unfortunately, we are not in the 10% category. However, the rest of us are still better than 90% of the politicians.

Reading

Last night I read a book that had been languishing on my TBR pile for some time and I don't know why I haven't gotten to it before. (Possibly the fact that my TBR pile is more a mountain has something to do with it).

"The Year 1000: What Life was Like at the Turn of the First Millennium, An Englishman's World"  is a lovely little read.  Chapters are designed around the Julian Work Calendar and it begins with a description of the calendar itself.
It was an oak tree that provided the ink, from a boil-like pimple growing out of its bark.
How can you resist a book that starts with that sentence?  It was a fun read and I definitely recommend it.
