Acquitted

That this ever happened is an indictment of the legal system in this country.  Had the person Mr. Lynch hit been in prison where he belongs the guards could have prevented Mr. Lynch putting himself in such a terrible situation. Putting Mr. Lynch on trial was a travesty and the prosecutors who made that decision should be ashamed of themselves, which was further confirmed by this:

But two days into Lindner's testimony, his attorney notified the court that his client was invoking his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination and would not testify further for fear of a perjury prosecution.

Child molestation statutes of limitation should begin not from the time of the crime, but from the time the molested child reaches his majority.  Or not exist at all.
