That means that 10% of the people have 90% of the talent. Unfortunately, we are not in the 10% category. However, the rest of us are still better than 90% of the politicians.

Food Stamp Usage

This morning I watched a bit of Fox and Friends where they were doing a short segment on the announcement by Illinois that only 2% of the money handed out from their SNAP benefits was lost to fraud.  2% doesn't sound so bad does it?  Except that 2% of Illinois food stamp budget equals 52 million dollars. And that's just one state. And one assistance program.

Then there was this, a different type of foreign aid;

Food stamps are paying for trans-Atlantic takeout — with New Yorkers using taxpayer-funded benefits to ship food to relatives in Jamaica, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

Food Stamp usage is increasing by tremendous amounts and there is nothing being done about the fraud.  This stealing is not only offensive to those who pay for it, but it decreases the amount of help available for the deserving, so why is it ignored?

In a population of 300 million, 47 million are on food stamps.  Where did we go so wrong in a country of such opportunity that so many people are unable/unwilling to feed themselves?
