Review: Ride the Rising Tide

I read "Ride the Rising Tide" last week and truly enjoyed it.  The first book in the series "Take the Star Road" was absorbing and I was waiting (impatiently) for the second to see if it kept me as engrossed.  It did. "Ride the Rising Tide" is one of those books that is so involving that I found myself stuck between wanting to find out what happened and trying to slow down so it wouldn't end.
The characters are the kind that feel like old friends and the world creation is well done and without any jarring notes.  The best books are those that make the reader hate to close the covers and drop back into the real world.  Peter Grant has achieved that with his Maxwell Saga.
