Seems that even singlehandedly tracking and killing Osama bin Laden won't be enough for Zeroman to win re-election if the economy stays in the tank. So, Loyal Opposition, all you really need to do is not screw it up.

All you have to do is...nothing! You held the requested vote on raising the debt ceiling, now let it lie. If and when the Demwits come up with a plan for cuts that looks appealing, and only then do you even need to consider thinking about it. As that is as likely as Zeroman kissing Bibi Netanyahu smack on the pooper, you have nothing to worry about.

Only the terminally misinformed voter can think the country can continue on this spree of debt building. Only the terminally misinformed voter thinks it's a good idea to increase the size of government. Only the terminally misinformed voter thinks "extraordinary measures" to continue spending are a good idea.

So spat Timmy Geithner on the hand and tell him to knock off the "extraordinary measures" (stealing the pensions of employees, can you say Enron?)and start living within the country's means.

And then sit tight. In this case doing nothing will allow you to do exactly what you were sent to Washington,D.C. in the last election to do. Shrink the government.
