Had a lovely trip for my birthday (there was a parade!). Visited a niece in Cleveland*, re-fought Gettysburg (as it was and as it might have been had Lee been sensible enough to listen to Longstreet), visited family and touristed in Washington, D.C. a bit, proudly attended a Hooding Ceremony for the new law school grad, and were going to spend a few days on the beach, but the weather didn't agree that we should so now we're home and working on the kitchen again. I've been deliberately avoiding the news so as to maintain my pleasant vacation outlook, but will get all caught up directly and I'm sure I will soon be back in my usual non-vacation state of choler.
* Who says we probably fit in better at this parade, as she keeps picturing the funny looks we likely got on Olvera Street, all of us being blue-eyed blond Naturalized or 1st Generation Americans of Norwegian origin.
