Golfing while Rome burns.

President Obama, House Speaker Boehner, Vice President Biden, and Govinor Kasich are going to play golf this Saturday. White House Press Secretary Carney stressed that there was no agenda to this outing, just an attempt to further the relationship between the President and House Speaker. Why don't they further their relationship while actually addressing such sniggling little issues like the debit ceiling? Maybe they could discuss the difference between the War Powers Act and Congress' power to declare war per Article 1 Section 8 of the constitution. Just maybe they could discuss that Obama as of today is in violation of the War Powers Act? Maybe someone could explain that Libya does not present a direct threat to the United States and that even though NATO is involved in the bombing, Libya is not a member of NATO and so does not have automatic protection of the United States. No, the leaders of our country are going to play with their balls. I just wish that they would decide to going quail hunting with Cheny instead.

    Look at it this way: Almost nothing bad ever happens when politicians get together to play golf. I wish they'd do it 24/7, until they drop.

    Though the Cheney idea has merit as well...
